How often do we hear that our lives are up to us to create into the life we wish to live? It sounds easy enough, but getting out of our own way so we can realize our potential can be the most difficult obstacle to move past. The doubts, the "who do you think you are to do this" thoughts that come creeping into your brain and make you say,
"Screw it. I'm gonna binge watch early episodes of Grey's Anatomy the rest of the day."
This is the reason positive affirmations can be helpful, little cheerleaders shaking their pom poms to remind you that
You Hold the Power to Change Your Life
It can be hard to believe at times, but really now, would you want anyone else to have such power over your life?
No I didn't think so. If you want to make your dreams reality it is up to you.
Yesterday the word commit came up in my meditation. These are the notes I wrote down after
Commit to decisions
Commit to commit.
Commit to one thing at a time.
So I could use more commitment in creating the life I desire, but how do I go about getting it? I found myself searching back for a podcast episode from a no BS life coach, Brooke Castillo, who I LOVE listening to (I'm not being paid for this shout out, just a fan of her work). The episode is called Compelling Reason and while listening to it I had an aha moment.
Brooke mentions how we need to decide what we want. In most cases there will be competing desires at times so deciding ahead of time what we want and keeping to it will help us reach those goals faster. If I decide to be successful then I'll spend hours taking product photos on a even if my desire in that moment is do to anything, but work on the business.
I felt the immediate power within me as I said those two words
I decide to be work on building my candle business
I decide to be successful
I decide to be productive with my time
I decide to be wealthy
I decide my marriage will be a long and happy one
I decide to work for myself
I decide to be okay about my debt
I decide to be decisive
I decide to be committed to my goals
I decide to think positive thoughts
I decide to listen
I decide to forgive
I decide to move on
I decide to be comfortable in my body
I decide to be healthy
I decide to be strong
I decide to make art
I decide to take my time making my art
I decide to live my life my way
I decide I have permission
I decide I have the power to make all the above reality.
Now it's your turn. What is it that you decide to make happen in your own life? Get a piece of paper and pen and start writing down your own I Decide statements. Notice how the energy in your body shifts as you write down more and more. For the most powerful impact speak these statements out loud as you read over them.
